The Southgate Winter Photoshoot, Darling. Don’t Touch.
This was high fashion, sweetie, and the Southgate Winter shoot was on its glorious way. Actually, the studio was a bit dark, and there were photos of people’s naughty bits on the walls, winking at us. But a bit of smut didn’t stop us from being our usual sophisticated-yet-understated selves.
‘Blimey, I would never have thought to put that fedora with the pleated dress and those wooly gloves,’ I said.
The stylist smiled at my ignoramus remark and carried on adjusting the gorgeous Michelle’s heels, wonderfully impractical for winter, but so stylish they’d make SJP’s Manolos look dumpy.
Our Winter 2012 concept departed from the usual snowy scenes and brought the season inside a sumptuous, stately home. Antique furniture, earthy tones and soft fabrics oozed winter warmth for our Edmonton-based clients, usually up to their necks in icicles and sick of it by February. Here we have nostalgia, refinement and sophistication, with just a hint of playful sensuality – together capturing the grand warmth of home.
